A new church

The youngest member of the churches located around Lake Tisza is the newly built church of the Holy Family in Bánhalma, consecrated by the Archbishop of Eger on 22 March, 2022. A long-standing wish of the faithful was fulfilled when, in 2019, the construction work could begin with a joint effort. The bell of the church was a gift to the congregation, the pews, the altar, the reading stand and other church furnishings were made in Italy. The glass window depicting the Holy Family, which serves as an altarpiece, used to decorate the chapel of the Eger Archbishop’s Palace, and its frame and the stand holding the tabernacle were made by a contractor from Kunhegyes.
